Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. I-VI-XXII
In my early youth, my salvation was
In my early youth, my salvation was
Shri Shankara, and with him, spiritual virtue;
And so I was able to learn: only inspiration,
And not vain thinking, can give Wisdom.
Then came the notion of tradition:
Only the sacred may carry the sacred.
All this Guénon wrote in his works with great diligence
And zeal. But much still remained to be said!
Dans ma prime jeunesse le salut fut
Dans ma prime jeunesse le salut fut
Shrî Shankara, avec lui la vertu de l’esprit ;
Shrī Shánkara, mit ihm des Geistes Tugend;
So durft ich wissen: nur die Eingebung
Und nicht Vernünftelei kann Weisheit wagen.
Dann der Begriff der Überlieferung:
Allein das Heilige darf Heilges tragen.
All dies schrieb Guénon mit viel Fleiß und Schwung
In seinem Werk. Es blieb noch viel zu sagen!
