Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. I-VI-CXXX
Between the earthly man and the Lord,
Between the earthly man and the Lord,
There is the divine man — a bridge
From nothingness to the All. Chance and Necessity:
The primordial and ideal man fills the gap.
No one can meet God — it has been
Who does not first meet His Messenger;
Only he who has greeted the image of God,
Will be blessed by the Supreme Reality.
Qui n’aura pas rencontré l’Envoyé de Dieu ;
Vom Nichts zum All. Zufall, Notwendigkeit:
Das Ur-und Vorbild füllt die große Lücke.
Niemand begegnet Gott — so ward gesagt —
Der nicht dem Gottgesandten ist begegnet;
Nur wer das Abbild Gottes hat gegrüßt,
Wird von der Höchsten Wirklichkeit gesegnet.
