If I tell you that humility is everything —
If I tell you that humility is
Humility and generosity — you must understand:
Humility is akin to death, it is the snow of the Spirit;
And generosity is to see with the soul of your neighbor.
Then come patience and trust in God —
To look upon everything with the profundity of the heart.
Si je vous dis que l’humilité est tout —
Si je vous dis que l’humilité est tout —
Humilité et générosité — vous devez comprendre ceci :
L’humilité est proche de la mort, est la neige de l’esprit ;
La générosité, c’est voir avec l’âme du prochain.
A cela s’ajoutent patience et confiance en Dieu —
Regarder toute chose avec la profondeur du cœur.

Demut und Großmut — müsst ihr dies verstehen:
Demut ist nah dem Tod, ist Geistes Schnee;
Großmut ist, mit des Nächsten Seele sehen.
Dazu kommt auch Geduld und Gottvertrauen —
Auf alles mit des Herzens Tiefe schauen.
