Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. I-VI-XXIII
Human language is a kind of miracle —
Human language is a kind of
The fact that one can express ideas with sounds;
From the trivial to the sublime;
From the severe and hard to the sweet and mild.
In words there can be curse, but also blessing;
There is human conversation with its to and fro;
And there is the speech of God, which creates faith.
Le langage humain est une sorte de miracle —
Le langage humain est une sorte de miracle —
Que l’on puisse avec des sons former des concepts ;
Depuis le secondaire jusqu’au sublime ;
Du sérieux, rigoureux jusqu’au doux, clément.
Un mot peut contenir malédiction ou bénédiction ;
La conversation humaine, son va-et-vient ;
Le Discours de Dieu qui produit la foi.
Eine Art Wunder ist des Menschen Sprache —
Eine Art Wunder ist des Menschen Sprache —
Dass man mit Lauten kann Begriffe bilden;
Vom Nebensächlichen bis zum Erhabnen;
Vom Strengen, Harten, bis zum Süßen, Milden.
Im Wort kann Fluch sein, so wie Segenskraft;
Das menschliche Gespräch, sein Hin-und-Her;
Die Rede Gottes, die den Glauben schafft.
