An awesome reality: they are a powerful breathing,

With becoming and unbecoming, with Days and Nights –

Luminous and immutable is the one Eternal.

This thine Intellect can grasp — but thy soul stands

Before Him who created thee; and thou art that

Which will indeed be extinguished — and yet will not pass away.

L’Être et l’Existence : une puissante respiration

Avec devenir et disparition, jours et nuits —

Seul l’Eternel est Lumière, immuable.

Ceci, ton esprit le saisit — mais ton âme se tient

Devant Celui qui te créa ; et tu es ce qui

En fait s’éteindra — sans toutefois périr.

Und Sein und Dasein: ein gewaltger Atem

Mit Werden und Vergehen, Tagen, Nächten —

Licht, reglos, ist der Ewige allein.

Dies fasst dein Geist — doch deine Seele steht

Vor Dem, der dich erschuf; und du bist das,

Was wohl erlöscht — und dennoch nicht vergeht.
