Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. I-VI-LXXVI
It seems contradictory that a man
It seems contradictory that a man
Who loves peace — the universe’s harmony
Upon the ground of Pure Being — should also
Respect the warrior spirit, the wild melody
Of the tragedy of existence and its cruelty,
Which mocks so many values in the world;
A contradiction, certainly; yet as a problem
Has this world been made, and so also man.
Qui dans le monde se rit de tant de valeurs ;
Die in der Welt so manchen Wert verlacht;
