Thus has the Lord made time.

Day followed by night: after activity,

Respose in contemplativity.

Spring, summer, autumn and winter —

Life’s spaces within time;

Childhood, youth, maturity, old age —

Open thyself, O eternity!

Ainsi le Seigneur a-t-il fait le temps.

Jour, puis nuit : après l’activité,

Le repos dans la contemplation.

Printemps, été, automne et hiver —

Espaces de vie au sein du temps ;

Enfance, jeunesse, maturité, grand âge —

Ouvre-toi, ô Eternité.

So hat der Herr die Zeit gemacht.

Tag, dann Nacht: nach Tätigkeit

Ruhen in Beschaulichkeit.

Frühling, Sommer, Herbst und Winter —

Lebensräume in der Zeit;

Kindheit, Jugend, Reife, Alter —

Öffne dich, o Ewigkeit.
