Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. VII-XII-XLVII
If He is near thee, thou shouldst nothing fear;
If He is near thee, thou shouldst nothing fear;
And likewise, thou shouldst nothing desire.
Stern words — thou must understand them aright;
Before God, let not human nature consume thee.
God knows that thou art human, and still more.
Thou art from His Spirit, though made of earth;
Be this, and also that, and yet be
So that thy soul, in God, may become its true self.
S’Il est proche de toi, il ne faut rien craindre ;
S’Il est proche de toi, il ne faut rien craindre ;
Une parole audacieuse — tu dois bien la comprendre ;
Tu es de Son Esprit et pourtant de terre ;
Ist Er dir nah, dann sollst du nichts befürchten;
Ist Er dir nah, dann sollst du nichts befürchten;
Und ebenso: du sollst auch nichts begehren.
Ein starkes Wort — du musst es recht verstehen;
Du bist von seinem Geist, und doch aus Erde;
