Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. VII-XII-C
One day, a brahmin came to a well
One day, a brahmin came to a well
Where a pánchama sat in the sunshine;
“Give me to drink,” said the brahmana;
“This I may not do,” said the other,
“As thou well knowest, I am not pure for thee.”
The priest: “Say: Shiva! This word
Is purification, whatever thou mayst be.”
Là au soleil était assis un panchama ;
« Puise-moi à boire », dit le brahmane ;
Le prêtre : « Dis : Shiva ! Ce mot
Est purificateur, quoi que tu puisses être. »
Ein Brāhmana kam einst an einen Brunnen,
Ein Brāhmana kam einst an einen Brunnen,
Dort saß ein Pánchama im Sonnenschein;
„Schöpf mir zu trinken,“ sagte der Brahmane;
