Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. VII-XII-LVI

The spiritual life has two dimensions:

The spiritual life has two dimensions:

Emptiness for God and contemplation of the nobly beautiful.

Vacare Deo, then the way of darshan —

A noble longing for Paradise

That interiorizes us, and not passion,

Which has nothing to do with the Spirit’s power.

The sannyasi flees the snares of life —

But Abhinavagupta sees the ray from the Divine

In the noble things on earth.

“God is the Outward and the Inward,” says

The Word which transcends all illusion.
