Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. VII-XII-LXXX
“Heaven helps those who help themselves” —
“Heaven helps those who help themselves” —
This is will-power. — Then resignation:
“Man proposes, and God disposes” — this thou must accept.
Let the world have its play of possibilities.
Patience and fervor. Without this equilibrium,
Thou canst not obtain the good goal.
« Aide-toi, homme, et le Ciel t’aidera » —
« Aide-toi, homme, et le Ciel t’aidera » —
C’est la force active. — Puis la résignation :
« L’homme propose et Dieu dispose » — soumets-y-toi ;
— Dann Ergebenheit:
„Der Mensch denkt, und Gott lenkt“ — drein füge dich;
Lasse der Welt das Spiel der Möglichkeit.
Geduld und Eifer. Ohn dies Gleichgewicht
Erreichst du deine gute Sache nicht.
