Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. VII-XII-LXXIII
The birds in the vast sky
The birds in the vast sky
Are the happiest of creatures — so may their lot
Appear to man. But happier than they
Is man himself, when he pays heed to the kernel of existence.
What then is happiness? It is a full consciousness
Of the essence of things, and not just of their existential
Not what an animal might feel to be the goal of life.
For both animal and man — what is, is God’s Will.
Was denn ist Glück?
