To be a human being would have no meaning,
To be a human being would have no meaning,
Were there not the capacity to know and desire
That which is pure, invisible Reality —
The capacity to turn the soul from the animal to the Divine.
That a creature should love the Most High
Demonstrates why man exists.
Être homme n’aurait aucun sens, n’était

La faculté de connaître et de désirer

D’orienter l’âme, de l’animal vers le Divin.
Qu’une créature aime le Très-Haut,

Die Seel vom Tier zum Göttlichen zu kehren.
Dass eine Kreatur das Höchste liebt,
Beweist, warum es einen Menschen gibt.
