World Wheel: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Volumes I-III-CXXIV
Blessèd are the poor in spirit;
Blessèd are the poor in spirit;
The spiritual man is often called a child.
Whoever seeks to gain his life — will perish;
Whoever denies himself, is he who wins.
The world fades away — but the Truth remains.
Bénis sont ceux qui sont pauvres en esprit ;
Bénis sont ceux qui sont pauvres en esprit ;
On appelle souvent l’homme spirituel un enfant.
Qui veut se gagner — il se perdra ;
Qui se renie lui-même est celui qui se gagne.
Le monde se dissipe — la Vérité subsiste.
Gesegnet die, die arm im Geiste sind;
Gesegnet die, die arm im Geiste sind;
Den Geistesmenschen nennt man oft ein Kind.
Wer sich gewinnen will — er wird vergehen;
Wer sich verleugnet, ist, wer sich gewinnt.
Die Welt verweht — die Wahrheit bleibt bestehen.
