The efficacy of the essential is immediate;

What comes from the periphery, works only in an indirect
If is based on earthly experience,
And benefits the spirit in a secondary way;
Yet any path to God is wonderful.

Qu’indirectement ce qui vient comme à la périphérie —
Ce qui se base sur l’expérience terrestre,
Et profite ainsi à l’esprit en deuxième lieu ;
Mais toute voie vers Dieu est merveilleuse.
Des Wesentlichen Wirkung ist unmittelbar;
Des Wesentlichen Wirkung ist unmittelbar;
Nur mittelbar wirkt das, was wie am Rande kommt —
Was sich auf irdische Erfahrung stützt
Und so dem Geist in zweiter Linie frommt;
Doch jeder Weg zu Gott ist wunderbar.
