How should we encounter the Divine?
How should we encounter the Divine?
As man or as child? Certainly in both ways.
And may God, with His grace-filled Hands,
Bless all that we are capable of being.
As man: if we aim toward the Highest Truth;
As child: if we feel poor and
For one needs God on all levels of the soul.
One thing alone is needful — that we invoke Him with faith.

Comme homme, comme enfant ? Certes, des deux façons.
Tout ce que nous pouvons être, puisse Dieu
Le bénir de Ses Mains pleines de grâces.
Comme homme : quand nous visons la Vérité suprême ;
Comme enfant : quand nous nous sentons pauvres et désarmés —
Car on a besoin de Dieu à tous les niveaux de l’âme.
Une seule chose importe — que nous L’appelions avec foi.

Als Mann, als Kind? Gewiss auf beide Weisen.
Möge Gott alles, was wir können sein,
Mit seinen gnadenvollen Händen segnen.
Als Mann: wenn wir auf höchste Wahrheit zielen;
Als Kind: wenn wir uns arm und hilflos fühlen —
Denn man braucht Gott auf allen Seelenstufen.
Nur eins tut not — dass wir Ihn gläubig rufen.
