Adastra and Stella Maris: Poems by Frithjof Schuon-Return
To exist, then to exist no more; reality,
To exist, then to exist no more; reality,
Then nothing; a solace that has left us,
Just as a love song never heard
Marked by the sign of fleeting transcience
Dies away in the night.
And yet a wise man said:
You mourn because the world is fading; be wakeful
And lament not, for God never fails.
With Him is all that is worthy of love,
And that returns in new
Yea, all beauty’s deepest melody.
And know: all good that passes away
Is so made that it rises again.
Und was in neuer Strahlung wiederkehrt —
Ja aller Schönheit tiefste Melodie.
Und wisse: alles Gute, das vergeht,
Ist so beschaffen, dass es aufersteht.
