Adastra and Stella Maris: Poems by Frithjof Schuon-Returning
The path goes upward to the Highest Void;
The path goes upward to the Highest Void;
But then, it is said, a call will come to us:
Return with Heaven’s gift into the world;
A miracle of grace, created by the Most High.
And like a rainbow is the Spirit’s path:
One rises to the light, and then returns again;
One sees God in the world, and then the world in Him.
To this return our songs bear witness.
La Voie est ascendante, jusqu’au Vide suprême ;
La Voie est ascendante, jusqu’au Vide suprême ;
Mais alors, dit-on, nous viendrait un appel :
Retourner dans le monde, avec un don du Ciel ;
Un miracle de Grâce, créé par le Très-Haut.
La Voie spirituelle est comme un arc-en-ciel :
On monte vers la Lumière, puis on en revient ;
On voit Dieu dans le monde, le monde en Lui.
C’est de ce retour dont témoignent nos chants.
Aufsteigend ist der Weg, ins höchste Leere;
Aufsteigend ist der Weg, ins höchste Leere;
Dann aber, heißt es, käme uns ein Ruf:
Zurück zur Welt, mit einer Himmelsgabe;
Ein Gnadenwunder, das der Höchste schuf.
Der Geistespfad ist wie ein Regenbogen:
Man steigt zum Licht empor, dann kehrt man wieder;
Man sieht Gott in der Welt, die Welt in Ihm.
Von dieser Rückkehr zeugen unsre Lieder.
