En-Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. I-VI-XVIII

What does the Mea Culpa mean?

Not that I am the worst of sinners;

It means that evil touches my soul;

May God help me — He is mighty, free.

Why then “my fault?” On both feet

Stand fast! Thou shouldst close thyself to the evil one.

The Culpa can also be in a man’s very substance;

The Mea Culpa shows: he can be cured.

And may God grant that even on this earth

Ejaculatory prayer may still become a Felix Culpa.
