Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. I-VI-XXXIII
People do what wears out their spirit,
People do what wears out their spirit,
Then run to the doctor, who is supposed to heal them;
It is indifferent to him that their soul is
The remedy is to rush towards the naught.
Do what is reasonable; seek for help from the Lord;
Then ye will be at peace and will act with joy.
Les gens font ce qui démoralise leur esprit ;
Les gens font ce qui démoralise leur esprit ;
Puis courent chez le médecin, qui doit les guérir ;
Que leur âme périsse indiffère le médecin —
Le remède consiste à courir au néant.
Faites ce qui est sensé ; cherchez aide auprès du Seigneur ;
Vous aurez alors la paix, et une telle joie dans l’action.
Die Leute tun, was ihren Geist zermürbt;
Die Leute tun, was ihren Geist zermürbt;
Dann eilen sie zum Arzt, der soll sie heilen;
Dem Arzt ist gleich, dass ihre Seele stirbt —
Die Arzenei ist, in das Nichts zu eilen.
Tut, was vernünftig ist; sucht Hilf beim Herrn;
Dann habt ihr Ruh, und schafft es noch so gern.
