Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. I-VI-XLVII
God doeth what He wills, and wills what comes to pass
God doeth what He wills, and wills what comes to pass
By His Activity — there is no difference;
For God’s Spirit is not a magic wand;
Whatever be His Will — He is the Good.
What we distinguish as good and evil
Is what we experience — what we love or avoid;
God wills not evil as such,
He permits only what, inevitably, is the shadow of the Good.
Infinity, All-Possibility — the wheel
That reason can understand only with difficulty.
De par Son action — il n’y a là pas de différence ;
Car l’Esprit de Dieu n’est pas baguette de sourcier ;
Est ce que nous vivons — aimons ou évitons ;
Gott tut das, was Er will; will, was geschieht
Gott tut das, was Er will; will, was geschieht
Aus seinem Tun — da ist kein Unterschied;
Denn Gottes Geist ist keine Wünschelrute;
Ist, was wir leben — lieben oder meiden;
