Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. I-VI-XCVII

Man is nostalgia for Paradise

Man is nostalgia for Paradise

And its light.

Most men are not true to themselves —

They destroy it.

Matter and selfishness have misled you

And separated you from the essence

Of primordial Nature; therefore become

What ye were in God.

If — God willing — we choose the True

With a sincere disposition

There is a ray of blessing in it

For all souls.

Machen’s zunichte.

Grobstoff und Eigensucht hat euch verführt,

Getrennt vom Wesen

Der Urnatur; so werdet, was in Gott
