The world is all and nothing. God is the Center.
The cosmos unfolds itself because it shows
What lies in Unity. Conversely,
It is a point within All-Possibility —
It is the latter which expands without bounds.
And so it is with the soul: it unfolds itself
Into the limitless, and yet is little;
The heart is center, core — yet is unbounded,
It is infinitely more than what one measures.
The many appears to overwhelm mere Oneness;
But Oneness is the All, despite appearances.

Le cosmos s’étend parce qu’il explicite
Ce qui se trouve dans l’Unité. Et inversement :
Il est un point au sein de la Toute-Possibilité —
C’est elle qui se multiplie sans limite.
Ainsi en est-il dans l’âme, qui s’étend
Dans l’indéfini, tout en étant peu de chose ;
Le cœur est centre, noyau — mais illimité ;
Il est infiniment plus que ce que l’on mesure.
Le multiple semble vaincre le simple un ;
Mais le tout est unité, malgré l’apparence.

Die Welt ist All und Nichts. Gott ist die Mitte.
Der Kosmos dehnt sich aus, weil er erläutert
Was in der Einheit liegt. Und umgekehrt:
Er ist ein Punkt in der Allmöglichkeit —
Sie ist es, die sich grenzenlos vermehrt.
So ist es in der Seele, die sich dehnt
Ins Ungemessne, und doch wenig ist;
Das Herz ist Mitte, Kern — doch unbegrenzt;
Es ist unendlich mehr, als was man misst.
Vielheit scheint zu besiegen bloßes Eins;
Doch Einheit ist das Alles, trotz des Scheins.
