Autumn Leaves & The Ring-Pneumatikos

The ordinary man, who looks at the outward,

The ordinary man, who looks at the outward,

Can hardly understand one who is interiorized;

Whose nobility is to gaze upon the kernel of things —

To see in man the image of God.

For what counts is the profound intention —

Much may seem strange or superficial

Because one does not know that in the wise man’s mind

Forms are united with their essence.

For the fool, the world is the goal of life;

For the wise, it is like a play of masks.

Le monde est pour le sot le but de la vie ;

Kann den Verinnerlichten kaum verstehen;

Dem Toren ist die Welt des Lebens Ziel;

Dem Weisen ist sie wie ein Maskenspiel.
