Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. I-VI-LIX
Mâ shâ’a ’Llâh — Allâh karîm —
Mâ shâ’a ’Llâh — Allâh karîm —
So say the Moslems.
“What God wished, has happened.”
We must accept it from Him.
Yet “God is benevolent” — this must
Be added, and should delight us;
For, in all situations, God will
Watch over us, be we near or far.
Mâ shâ’a ’Llâh — Allâh karîm —
Mâ shâ’a ’Llâh — Allâh karîm —
Ainsi disent les musulmans.
« Ce que Dieu a voulu est arrivé » —
Nous devons l’accepter de Sa part.
Mais « Dieu est bon » — ceci en fait
Partie aussi, et doit nous rendre heureux ;
Car en toute situation Dieu prendra
Soin de nous, de loin et de près.
Mā shā’a ’Llāh — Allāh karīm —
Mā shā’a ’Llāh — Allāh karīm —
So sagen die Moslemen.
“Was Gott gewollt, das ist geschehn” —
Wir müssen’s von Ihm nehmen.
Doch “Gott ist gütig” — dies gehört
Dazu, und soll uns freuen;
Denn Gott wird uns in jeder Lag
Von fern und nah betreuen.
