Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. I-VI-LXXXVI
One day follows the next, and man
One day follows the next, and man
Must think of God at every
He must, in everything he thinks and does,
Give heed to the Will of His Lord.
There is petitioning for Mercy,
And gratitude for God’s daily gift thereof;
And, in trial, resignation
And trust that all will turn out for the best.
And love along with fear, and praise and
“He leadeth me to a green pasture.”
Et puis la gratitude envers Dieu qui l’accorde chaque jour ;
Et dans l’épreuve, la résignation
Et la confiance que les choses vont changer ;
Und dann der Dank, dass Gott sie täglich spendet;
Und in der Prüfung die Ergebenheit
Und das Vertrauen, dass sich alles wendet;
Und Liebe mit der Furcht, und Lob und Freude —
„Er führet mich auf eine grüne Weide.“
