Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. I-VI-VIII
The True and the Beautiful are ready
The True and the Beautiful are ready
To pull man out of this vale of
Out of a world full of falsehood and ugliness,
Onto a height where graces bloom.
Truth and Beauty bestow light and joy.
Each says: “I came, I saw, I conquered.”
Le Vrai et le Beau sont prêts
Le Vrai et le Beau sont prêts
A tirer l’homme de la vallée de larmes —
D’un monde plein de fausseté et de laideur
Sur une hauteur où les grâces fleurissent.
Vérité et Beauté donnent lumière et joie ;
« Je suis venu, j’ai vu, j’ai vaincu » — disent-elles toutes deux.
Das Wahre und das Schöne sind bereit
Das Wahre und das Schöne sind bereit
Den Menschen aus dem Jammertal zu ziehen —
Aus einer Welt voll Falsch und Hässlichkeit
Auf eine Höhe, wo die Gnaden blühen.
Wahrheit und Schönheit schenken Licht und Freude;
„Ich kam, und sah, und siegte“ — sagen beide.
