Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. I-VI-XLIII

Painters of the Far East love clouds of mist —

Painters of the Far East love clouds of mist —

Why so? Because all existence is mysterious;

Yang, yin: between the two poles, a to-and-fro,

A veiling and unveiling: the play

That produces this world and also our thoughts.

Dance has the same double meaning:

The veils that conceal and reveal,

Just as the mist rises and flees —

The Tao — Path of the Marvelous One.

Ostasiens Maler lieben Nebelschwaden —

Ostasiens Maler lieben Nebelschwaden —

Warum?
