Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. I-VI-XVII
The greatest miracle that the angels work
The greatest miracle that the angels work
Is that their activity can give life to the
And so arises: first the dream of the universe,
And then — it cannot be otherwise —the foam of evil.
It must be so: because the existence of this world
Coincides with its play of shadows;
Where there is light, there must also be darkness;
Pure Light — it shines in God alone.
Coïncide avec son jeu d’ombres ;
Là où il fait clair, l’ombre doit être aussi ;
Mit seinem Schattenspiel zusammenfällt;
Da wo es hell ist, muss auch Dunkel sein;
