Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. I-VI-XXIII
Let me greet the deep and wild forest —
Let me greet the deep and wild
A winding path down to a brook;
Deeply carved is the dark
You hear how a birdsong fades away,
And sit on a tree stump,
Alone and in contemplation. Quiet
You climb back up, hesitating through the brush,
On a trail that winds up to the light.
Forest: sanctuary of wilderness — nature
Whispers its secret in the tracks of Divinity.
Salutation à la profonde forêt sauvage —
Salutation à la profonde forêt sauvage —
Un sentier sinueux descend vers un ruisseau ;
Gewundner Weg bergab zu einem Bach;
Tief eingeschnitten ist das dunkle Tal –
Du hörst wie eines Vogels Lied verhallt
Und sitzest hin auf eines Baumes Stumpf,
Allein und in Besinnung. Stille Stunden –
