Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. VII-XII-CVII

Consolation as such is God. Also consoling is, on another plane,

Consolation as such is God. Also consoling is, on another plane,

The conscientious performance of our duty;

Then everything that is right and good in the world —

And then the celestial unveiling of beauty.

The splendor of heaven and earth is contained in God —

As well as in the deepest folds of the human heart.

La consolation en soi est Dieu. Puis console de même,

La consolation en soi est Dieu. Puis console de même,

Sur un autre plan, le bon accomplissement du devoir ;

Auf andrer Ebne, gute Pflichterfüllung;

Dann alles Rechte, Gute in der Welt —

Und dann der Schönheit himmlische Enthüllung.

In Gott ist Erden-, Himmelspracht enthalten —

Und in des Menschenherzens tiefsten Falten.
