The bliss of trust: a priori, mistrust is

Foreign to the good man —

And to the childlike soul that is readily ashamed

Of every temptation to bad will,

Experience helps, but so does sharp discrimination;

May the Most High grant us His support.

A l’âme d’enfant qui a facilement honte

De toute tentation de mauvaise volonté.

Dem guten Menschen a priori fremd —

Dem kindlichen Gemüte, das sich leicht

Jeder Versuchung bösen Willens schämt.
