Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. VII-XII-XXXVII
All too often philosophy is the thinking
All too often philosophy is the thinking
Of a “no-longer-wishing-to-think,” and not a reflection
On what is the essential content of all thinking;
One entertains thoughts that dissolve into nothingness.
True thinking leads to a reality;
But people want to replace this with the cult of
A cult of power, of life. Or again:
One imagines one has unraveled the Veil of Isis.
Sur Ce qui est la Quintessence de toute pensée ;
La véritable pensée débouche dans un être ;
Auf Das, was allen Denkens Urgehalt;
Man hegt Gedanken, die ins Nichts zerrinnen.
Das wahre Denken mündet in ein Sein;
Man will es durch den Daseinskult ersetzen —
Ein Kult der Kraft, des Lebens. Oder auch:
Man wähnt, der Isis Schleier zu enträtseln.
