World Wheel: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Volumes I-III-CXI

In principle, man is intelligent; he is not an animal.

In principle, man is intelligent; he is not an animal.

But in fact, he is stupid — the proof:

Human history. If one seeks to understand it,

One understands nothing — one walks on ice.

We do not have the right to regret our humanity —

Because we have the choice to be truly man.

L’Histoire.

Kein Tier. Tatsächlich ist er dumm — Beweis:

Die Weltgeschichte. Will man sie verstehn,
