World Wheel: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Volumes I-III-LXVIII
The human body, scientists say,
The human body, scientists say,
Represents what we need in order to live on this earth,
And nothing else. But it was not for this
That the Lord breathed into us the Holy Spirit.
The useful, in the structure of creatures,
Does not exhaust God’s intention; for He created
Man for eternal life
The wise soul follows the call of the Most High.
The human body is a multifaceted
Man and woman are complementary and yet one.
