World Wheel: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Volumes I-III-XCV
The feet were made for moving forwards,
The feet were made for moving forwards,
So it is with man: whoever plows, should not look back,
Otherwise the sowing is of no value. What lies before us
Is God; the last word of the good path is bliss.
Yet it is not enough to look ahead while
The viaticum is trust in God.
Was vor uns liegt
Ist Gott; des guten Weges letztes Wort ist Glück.
Doch es genügt nicht, dass wir vorwärtsschauen
Beim Gehn — die Wegzehrung ist Gottvertrauen.
