World Wheel: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Volumes IV-VII-CXXI
As far as possible one should be on guard against the psyche —
As far as possible one should be on guard against the
Not when the Spirit penetrates it from above,
But when the soul is an end in itself,
And drowns in its own nothingness.
In the most diverse of realms, one can see
That only the radiation of the Spirit brings good.
Non si l’Esprit la pénètre d’En Haut ;
Nicht, wenn der Geist von Oben sie durchdringt;
In ihrer eignen Nichtigkeit versinkt.
Man sieht es auf verschiedensten Gebieten —
Dass nur des Geistes Strahlung Gutes bringt.
