World Wheel: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Volumes IV-VII-CXXXII
God gives many consolations to man:
God gives many consolations to man:
The first — divinely absolute — lies
In the Being of the Most High.
Yet our salvation is conditional:
Although the heart’s power of faith suffices,
We still have to earn it.
Another consolation is the particular favor
That God gives to man according to his need.
We could also mention the little things
With which God, as if in play,
Rejoices the heart of the weary wanderer.
Le Seigneur nous donne diverses consolations :
Le Seigneur nous donne diverses consolations :
La première, divinement absolue, réside
Dans l’Être même du Très-Haut.
Conditionnel toutefois —
