World Wheel: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Volumes IV-VII-III

Rest, purity and peace we find,

Rest, purity and peace we find,

When we take refuge in the Most High.

Thus can man tame his earthly nature

With God’s gracious help.

In the river Ganges, the soul is purified;

So too in God, when our soul’s distress

Puts its trust in Him; it cannot be otherwise —

After dark hours blooms the rosy dawn.

Repos, pureté et paix trouvons-nous

Repos, pureté et paix trouvons-nous

Quand nous prenons notre refuge dans le Très-Haut ;

Dans le fleuve du Gange l’âme devient pure ;

Wenn wir zum Höchsten unsre Zuflucht nehmen;

So kann der Mensch die irdische Natur

Mit Gottes gnadenvollem Beistand zähmen.

Im Gangesstrome wird die Seele rein;
