When I was a child, other children used to ask me
When I was a child, other children used to ask me
For advice; then, later in life,
It was the same: I always had to
Give advice and help to others.
From my childhood, I felt within me
A certitude that was inborn
And always brought an answer.
For I was chosen to teach and to help.
There is no question here of “I” and “thou” —
In God’s Will thou shouldst find thy peace.

Conseil ; et puis, plus tard dans ma vie,
Il en fut de même : je dus toujours prodiguer
Conseil et aide à maintes autres gens.
Dès mon enfance je sentis en moi
Une certitude qui m’était innée,
Et toujours apportait la réponse. Car je fus
Choisi pour instruire et pour aider.
Et là, il n’est point question de moi et de toi —
Trouve ta paix dans la Volonté de Dieu.

Zum Lehren und zum Helfen auserkoren.
Und da ist nicht die Frag von Ich und Du —
In Gottes Willen finde deine Ruh.
