World Wheel: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Volumes IV-VII-LXX
Thousands of years ago — who can know
Thousands of years ago — who can know
Whether our region was hot or cold?
No one is in a position to find
And if one could, one would be sore afraid.
Wanderer, go thy way intent on thy
Wonder little about the unthinkable,
And leave to God what we cannot know.
Wandrer, geh deine Wege pflichtbeflissen —
Kümmre dich wenig um das Undenkbare
Und überlasse Gott, was wir nicht wissen.
