World Wheel: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Volumes IV-VII-XLII
“Physician, heal thyself” — many could heal themselves
“Physician, heal thyself” — many could heal themselves
If they did not have a secret pride in their veins;
And many souls would have been healed long ago,
Had they been capable to struggle with themselves.
« Médecin, guéris-toi toi-même » — beaucoup pourraient se guérir,
« Médecin, guéris-toi toi-même » — beaucoup pourraient se guérir,
S’il n’y avait un secret orgueil dans leurs veines ;
Mainte âme serait guérie déjà depuis longtemps,
Si elle était capable de se livrer bataille.
„Arzt, hilf dir selbst“ — gar mancher könnt sich heilen,
„Arzt, hilf dir selbst“ — gar mancher könnt sich heilen,
Wär nicht geheimer Hochmut in den Adern;
Gar manche Seele wär schon lang gesund,
Wäre sie fähig, mit sich selbst zu hadern.
