Calumny and megalomania go together,
Calumny and megalomania go together,
Because they come from the same lying spirit.
Do not believe that a small evil weighs not
The one who casually sins, sins more and more.
Truthfulness and humility open wide
The door to felicity and the Most High.
Arrogance and pride thou shouldst ever
How easily God pardons a childlike heart!
Calomnie, mégalomanie — elles vont de pair,
Calomnie, mégalomanie — elles vont de pair,
Car elles émanent du même esprit menteur.
Ne crois pas qu’un petit mal ne pèse pas lourd —
Qui pèche légèrement, pèche de plus en plus.
Véracité et humilité ouvrent toute grande
La porte vers le Très-Haut et la Béatitude.
L’arrogance et l’orgueil, il faut les fuir —
Dieu pardonna si facilement à un cœur d’enfant !

Das Tor zum Höchsten und zur Seligkeit.
Die Anmaßung, den Hochmut, soll man fliehen —
Wie leicht hat Gott dem Kinderherz verziehen!
