World Wheel: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Volumes IV-VII-XXXIV
If in thy deepest nature thou art philosopher,
If in thy deepest nature thou art philosopher,
Thou canst not choose a narrow faith;
If thou findest thy happiness in fideistic zeal,
Thou canst not speak of the Pure Intellect.
Look into the fundamental content of thy heart;
God made it; but souls are different.
And different is their spiritual destiny.
Tu ne saurais choisir une foi étroite ;
Rappelle-toi la substance première de ton cœur ;
Kannst du nicht einen engen Glauben wählen;
Hast du im Glaubenseifer all dein Glück,
Kannst du vom reinen Geiste nichts erzählen.
Schau auf des Herzens Urgehalt zurück;
