Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. I-VI-XLVI

With David, Krishna and Shankara, we are familiar —

With David, Krishna and Shankara, we are familiar —

As a fourth name, I could mention Honen.

Shinran had more success in Japan,

But the veil of his teaching has a hole:

One cannot repose motionless in grace —

The man who wants something, must do something.

If I only see the grace of a Divinity,

All the rest will melt away like snow.

Shinran exaggerated his point —

But Honen, on the path of the golden mean,

Remained faithful to the principle of yin-yang.

Le voile de sa doctrine a un trou ;
