Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. VII-XII-XCVII

The first couple were clad in animal skins

The first couple were clad in animal skins

From the moment they were cast out of Eden;

It was not their nakedness, but their souls,

That no longer were allowed to live in Paradise.

The question is: could it have been otherwise?

The right answer would be: yes and no.

Holy innocence can scarcely exist any longer

In the everyday life of society.

Le premier couple était vêtu de peaux

Le premier couple était vêtu de peaux

Après avoir été expulsé de l’Eden ;

Als es aus Eden wurde ausgewiesen;
