Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. VII-XII-LX
Truth and duty are of a masculine nature;
Truth and duty are of a masculine nature;
Beauty and love I would call feminine.
But man and woman are one in their human nature;
So both must recognize within themselves
Truth and duty, beauty and love, as their very Being.
Vérité et devoir sont de nature masculine ;
Vérité et devoir sont de nature masculine ;
Beauté et amour, je les appellerais féminins.
Mais homme et femme sont un dans leur état humain ;
Et ainsi tous deux doivent-ils reconnaître en eux-mêmes
Vérité et devoir, beauté et amour, comme leur être même.
Wahrheit und Pflicht sind männlicher Natur;
Wahrheit und Pflicht sind männlicher Natur;
Schönheit und Liebe möcht ich weiblich nennen.
Doch Mann und Weib sind eins im Menschentum;
So müssen beide in sich Wahrheit, Pflicht
Und Schönheit, Liebe, als ihr Sein erkennen.
