The cool mountain height with its vast view,

And the cavern deep within the mountain —

The warm home, the happiness of a familiar hearth.

Both are symbols. Serenity;

And then beatitude in the depth of the heart.

Nous aimons les deux : liberté et sécurité —

Le vaste panorama d’un frais sommet de montagne ;

Et puis la caverne creusée en son flanc —

Le chaud domicile, le bonheur du foyer bien-aimé.

Tous deux des symboles. La sérénité ;

Et puis la béatitude du tréfonds du cœur.

Der kühlen Bergeshöhe weiter Überblick;

Und dann die Höhle, in den Berg gegraben —

Das warme Heim, des trauten Herdes Glück.

Sinnbilder beides. Die Erhabenheit;

Und dann der Herzenstiefe Seligkeit.
