World Wheel: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Volumes I-III-LXVII
Not every beautiful human being deserves love;
Not every beautiful human being deserves love;
But beauty in itself deserves
I would that the heavenly ray of beauty
Were never attached to anyone unworthy of it.
But one cannot change the world. Between the
The earthly and the heavenly — one must discern.
L’amour, tout bel être humain ne le mérite point ;
L’amour, tout bel être humain ne le mérite point ;
Liebe verdient nicht jeder schöne Mensch;
Liebe verdient nicht jeder schöne Mensch;
Schönheit an sich jedoch verdienet Liebe —
Ich wünschte, dass der Schönheit Himmelsstrahl
Nie an unwürdgen Menschen hängen bliebe.
Man kann die Welt nicht ändern. Zwischen beiden —
Irdisch und Himmlisch — muss man unterscheiden.
