World Wheel: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Volumes IV-VII-XV
Consoling warmth and pleasant coolness,
Consoling warmth and pleasant coolness,
Along with the fragrance of roses and
These gifts give pleasure also in the heavenly realm;
Heat and cold exist only on earth:
Desert and ice are hardly celestial;
Yet, there is nothing that does not lead to God —
So do not complain about what adorns our earth.
For even in sand and snow, the power of Beauty
In them, God thinks of pure and empty Being.
Dons qui réjouissent aussi le monde céleste ;
Désert et iceberg ne peuvent guère être célestes ;
Gaben, die auch die Himmelswelt erfreun;
Hitze und Kälte sind nur Erdenluft.
Wüste und Eisberg kann kaum himmlisch sein;
So rüge nicht, was unsre Erde ziert.
